With an emphasis on training smart, prioritizing bio-mechanics, and training energy systems specific to TSAC Athletes, we are preparing our service providers for the difficulty their jobs demand.  Starting the Fall of 2019, we are starting to offer police and fire specific training programs that will get our first responders in a position to serve and save lives.  With the help of our parters, we are able to provide an accelerated return to duty program.

The job of a fire fighter is one of the most physically demanding jobs in North America. It requires high levels of cardiopulmonary endurance, muscular strength and muscular endurance. Training for the job is incredibly unique when it come to energy system preparation  The Candidate Physical Ability Test consists of eight critical physical tasks that simulate actual job duties on the fire ground. This test is physically demanding and requires that you be physically fit to be successful. Our tactical athlete preparation will equip you to not only be successful in the CPAT, but also stay fit and health on the job

 

  1. Candidate Must Wear a 50LB Vest The Entire Time
  2. >Stair Climb (climbing stairs while carrying an additional 25 lb. simulated hose pack)
  3. Ladder Raise and Extension (placing a ground ladder at the fire scene and extending the ladder to the roof or a window)
  4. Hose Drag (stretching uncharged hoselines, advancing lines)
  5. Equipment Carry (removing and carrying equipment from fire apparatus to fireground)
  6. Forcible Entry (penetrating a locked door, breaching a wall) and
  7. Search (crawling through dark unpredictable areas to search for victims)
  8. Rescue Drag (removing victim or partner from a fire building)
  9. Ceiling Pull (locating fire and checking for fire extension)

Firefighter’s Combat Challenge

Individual competitors or Teams must complete a total of five events consecutively, in the order below Competitors must wear a helmet, coat, pants with liners, boots, gloves, and a breathing apparatus—an SCBA—during the entire duration of competition. The event list consists of:

  1. Stair Climb – 42 lb High Rise Pack
  2. Hose Hoist – 42 lb Hose Roll
  3. Forcible Entry – 160lb Keiser Sled
  4. Charged Hose Advance – 1.75″ Diameter
  5. Victim Rescue – 175lb Mannequin
